Special Function Vehicle Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a special function vehicle. Special function vehicles are vehicles of a distinct or unusual make, model, or appearance and must only be hired via pre-booking for the following approved events:

  • weddings
  • funerals
  • formal or graduation ceremonies
  • nationally significant events such as ANZAC Day.

Special function vehicle operators must comply with the Special Function Vehicle In-Service Maintenance Standards.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold an NT driver licence with 'H' endorsement
  • hold Commercial Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation
  • have your vehicle checked and approved by an MVR Transport Inspector.
