Special Passenger Vehicle Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to operate a special passenger vehicle (SPV) for hire or reward. An SPV is a vehicle that is operated for a purpose that does not fall within any other category of commercial passenger vehicle.

Individual assessment of the proposed SPV service will apply, and limited operating areas and times may be imposed. SPV operators must not allow the vehicle to be made available for hire or reward if it is unsafe, e.g. bald tyres, frayed seatbelts etc.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold an NT driver licence with 'H' endorsement
  • hold Commercial Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation
  • have your vehicle checked and approved by an MVR Transport Inspector.
