Substitute Taxi Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you are a taxi operator and intend to use a substitute taxi while your primary taxi is being serviced, maintained, repaired, or is otherwise out of service.

The primary taxi must not be operated while being substituted. The primary taxi must only have one substitute taxi operating under the primary taxi licence at any one time.

Substitute taxi operators must comply with the Taxi In-Service Maintenance Standards.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold an NT driver licence with 'H' endorsement
  • hold Commercial Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation
  • be endorsed by a taxi network (or a taxi operator where there is not a network)
  • hold a current Commercial Passenger Vehicle ID Card with taxi endorsement.
