This licence permits an accredited operator to operate a taxi in the Northern Territory. e.g If you apply to operate a Taxi in Darwin you are only permitted to operate that Taxi in Darwin.
A Taxi is a vehicle approved by the Director of Commercial Passenger (Road) Transport that is fitted, equipped or constructed to carry up to 11 passengers, unless exempted by the Director.
A Taxi is used to carry passengers for the purpose of hire or reward with the services of a driver.
The fare charged for using a Taxi is calculated by an approved and certified meter when engaged on a hiring. A taxi may respond to ad hoc hails, rank at approved locations, or may be pre-booked.

From 1 February 2018, a $1 per trip levy was introduced in the Northern Territory on all trips of point to point transport services including Taxi???s and must be paid on a monthly basis at the end of the month.
