Taxi Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence to operate a taxi service for hire or reward. A taxi is a vehicle that carries up to 15 passengers and can stand for hire in taxi ranks or respond to hails.

Taxis must have a certified meter, approved security camera system and braille labels fitted to the vehicle.

Taxi operators must comply with the Taxi In-Service Maintenance Standards.

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold an NT driver licence with 'H' endorsement
  • hold Commercial Passenger Vehicle Operator Accreditation
  • be endorsed by a taxi network (or a taxi operator where there is not a network)
  • hold a commercial passenger vehicle identify (CPVID) card with taxi endorsement.
