If you trained in Australia, you must have:
- completed an apprenticeship under the Training and Skills Development Act 2016
- obtained, during that apprenticeship, at least 12 months experience in the trade work of an electrical mechanic
- successfully completed a Certificate III in Electro-technology Electrician, or another approved course for electrical mechanic apprentices.
If you trained outside Australia, you must have:
- successfully completed a course, relevant to the Australian context, at a training organisation accredited in the place outside of Australia
- obtained, during that training, at least 12 months experience in the trade work of an electrical mechanic
- been assessed by Trades Recognition Australia and issued with an Offshore Technical Skills Record in the class of 34111 Electrician (General).
