If you intend to construct a greenfields pipeline project, you may apply for this determination to commence a 15-year period during which the status of the pipeline will not be subject to economic regulation under the National Gas Law.
A greenfields pipeline project is:
- a pipeline that is to be structurally separate from an existing pipeline (whether or not it is to traverse a route different from the route of an existing pipeline)
- a major extension to an existing pipeline that is not a covered pipeline
- a major extension to a covered pipeline by means of which light regulations services are provided, if that extension is exempted by the Australian Energy Regulator under section 19.
