Accreditation as a BoatSafe training organisation - Queensland

Description

You will require this accreditation if you intend to provide the BoatSafe training course to candidates for marine licences.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible you must:

  • hold public liability insurance of at least $20 million
  • provide information for the commercially certified ship/s to be used in the delivery of the BoatSafe training and assessment program (for example, a copy of the current Certificate of Operation)
  • provide proposed lesson plans which comply with the requirements set out within the relevant competency standard
  • obtain a criminal history check for all applicants and nominated persons
  • provide a current ASIC Certificate of Registration identifying all directors, and evidence of identity documentation for all directors
  • hold a current marine licence.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You must always comply with the conditions of the authority. Compliance is measured by audits that are conducted throughout the currency of an authority.
