Accredited traffic controller training provider - Queensland


You will need this accreditation if you operate a registered training provider (RTO) and intend to provide traffic management training. RTOs can enter into licence agreements to train and assess traffic management and control training packages on the departments' behalf.

All accredited RTOs must comply with the requirements set out in the 'Risk methodology' and 'RTO governance framework' documents that have been developed by the department.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

To maintain registration, you are required to participate in the department's performance and compliance requirements that are set out in the licence agreement. These activities can include:

  • desktop audits
  • on-site compliance audits
  • review of monthly reports, assessment records and relevant documents
  • observations of training and / or assessment delivery.


One year. A pro rata licence fee is calculated for licences issued after 1 July each year.
