Accredited traffic controller training provider - Queensland

Description

You will need this accreditation if you operate a registered training organisation (RTO) and intend to provide traffic management training. RTOs can enter into licence agreements with the agency to train and assess traffic management and control training packages on the departments' behalf.

All accredited RTOs must comply with the requirements set out in the 'Risk methodology' and 'RTO governance framework' documents that have been developed by the department.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this accreditation, you must:

  • have a signed agreement with a placement company to ensure all traffic control training participants have access to a suitable roadwork site
  • undertake 20 hours of practical experience (new entrants only).

Ongoing eligibility requirements

To maintain registration, you must participate in the department's performance and compliance requirements that are set out in the licence agreement. These activities can include:

  • desktop audits
  • on-site compliance audits
  • review of monthly reports, assessment records and relevant documents
  • observations of training and / or assessment delivery.
