Aircraft operations licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence to undertake temporary aircraft operations within your local council area. This includes the operation of the following:

  • helicopter
  • aeroplane
  • glider
  • hang-glider
  • ultra-light
  • airship
  • dirigible (blimp)
  • any form of craft capable of carrying at least one person while in the air.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Exemptions

You will not require a licence if the:

  • aircraft operations are undertaken at an airport or public aerodrome
  • aircraft operation is providing rescue, medical treatment or a fire fighting service
  • landing of the aircraft is a result of a medical or other emergency on board the aircraft
  • the aircraft operation is not a temporary use.
