Animal exhibition licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to exhibit and deal with animals in:

  • zoos
  • wildlife parks
  • mobile exhibits
  • circuses
  • rabbits in magic acts.

There are three categories of animals that can be exhibited: category A, B and C (category C is divided into C1 and C2). The conditions of your licence will vary depending on the category of animal you propose to exhibit. For further information on the categories of animals and their applicable standards, see the resources. Where an animal is not covered by a Queensland code, you may rely on a NSW or Victorian code for guidance.

If you intend to take C2 animals off the regular enclosure site for touring in circus performances, you must apply for a special exhibition approval. If you live outside of Queensland and intend to exhibit and deal with animals in Queensland, you will need to apply for an interstate exhibitors permit.

You can apply for this licence as an individual or a corporation.
