Approval for access to parks for scientific research - Gold Coast City Council - Queensland

Description

You will need approval to gain access to council parkland to undertake scientific research.

Activities that may require this approval include:

  • undertaking flora / fauna studies
  • delivery of organised citizen science activities, for example, bird surveys
  • a local nursery intending on collecting native seed
  • undertake studies or wildlife spotlighting
  • operating a drone in a Council park for scientific research.

You may need to provide to the council a copy of your final report and any other published material on the research carried out under this approval.

This application is subject to approval conditions and the research results are to be provided to our Natural Areas Management Unit.

Renew

If you require a renewal at the end of the permit period, before any renewal is granted, the Conservation Support Officer must be provided with a full report (or satisfactory progress report) on the research carried out under the permit.
