You may need an approval, permit or booking if you intend to undertake commercial filming or photography on council land including these activities:
- use of public areas (for example, parks, beaches, pontoons, jetties, roadways, car parks and footpaths)
- vehicle access to a public area such as a park or reserve
- use of a conservation area
- take off and landing of a drone
- could impact traffic
- involves longer-term use of a Council-managed area.
Your local council is required to monitor the standards of film production on council property. They may inspect the set before, during and after film production depending on the type of activity being conducted and its level of compliance.
