Approval of an inspection station - Queensland

Description

You will need this approval to use your premises as an inspection station. Before a registered vehicle can be offered for sale, or when an unregistered vehicle is being re-registered, it must be inspected to ensure minimum safety standards are met. Certain types of vehicles can be inspected at Approved Inspection Stations (AIS).

AIS premises must have a dedicated and suitably sized inspection area, all equipment necessary for an approved examiner to conduct a thorough inspection of all vehicle types and have met the that the AIS is approved and applying to inspect.

Eligibility requirements

Your proposed AIS must have at least one approved examiner and one AIS approval holder or nominee, though this can be the same person. The applicant must have suitable premises and equipment.
