Approval to conduct a weapons club - Queensland

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to conduct a weapons club for the purposes of a crossbow club or a recreational shooting club.

A crossbow club can be:

  • an archery organisation
  • a historical or military re-enactment organisation that demonstrates the use of category M crossbows
  • a genuine historical or military re-enactment organisation that gives training in the use of category M crossbows.

A recreational shooting club is an approved organisation or association that engages in the sport of hunting using Category A and / or B weapons and category M crossbows.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person with specific reference to mental state, misuse of drugs and firearm offences involving violence or threatened violence
  • have completed the safety training course within the preceding 12 months
  • provide all details relevant to the type of weapons club you are applying for.
