Approval to use local government areas and roads - Redland City Council - Queensland

Description

You will require this approval if you intend to undertake activities on local government roads and areas, which include parks, reserves, foreshores, bathing reserves, and council controlled venues. You will also need approval for an activity which might use or obstruct a footpath. Examples of these activities include but are not limited to:

  • sport and recreational events or competitions (including commercial skate events)
  • weddings
  • special events (e.g. fair, fete, markets or functions)
  • concerts
  • promotions
  • conferences
  • training
  • circuses
  • horse / camel / pony rides
  • equipment hire (including aquatic equipment)
  • temporary market stalls
  • sidewalk stalls
  • property renovation / rubbish removal that requires a skip bin or other temporary structure.

If you require development approval and receive approval for your activities on council land as part of that approval process, you will not need to obtain a separate approval.

Application process

You can obtain this licence by completing a "Public Venue" application and submitting it to the Reserves Booking Officer.

You may apply in writing detailing all activities and venues required. This form of application can be used for short term or one off events, such as weddings, events, etc and is entered into an in-house booking system as available.

You may be required to clarify types of activities applied for. This information will be used by council to determine approval or refusal and whether a fee is required.

Transfer process

This licence cannot be transferred.
