Queensland residents
If you live in Queensland and you want to apply to become an approved person, you need to:
- complete an approved person application
- attach to your application copies of your qualifications and evidence of industry experience and any supporting documents (if applicable)
- attend one of our transport and motoring service centres or Queensland Government Agency Program (QGAP) offices and provide evidence of identity and pay the application fee.
Once you have paid your application fee, lodge your application directly with the Approved Person Scheme Administrator either by email or post.
Interstate residents
If you live outside of Queensland (except WA and NT) you are not eligible to apply to become an approved person for heavy vehicle modification codes covered by the Vehicle Standards Bulletin 6 (VSB6): National Code of Practice for Heavy Vehicle Modifications. However, you can apply for the Queensland-specific heavy vehicle modification code S10 - Concessional livestock loading - vehicle rating, which falls outside of VSB6.
If you live outside of Queensland and you want to apply to become an approved person, you need to:
- complete an approved person application
- attach to your application copies of your qualifications, evidence of industry experience, certified copies of documents meeting the evidence of identity requirements for individuals and any supporting documents (if applicable)
- pay the application fee (cheque or money order only, do not send cash)
- post these documents (including your cheque or money order).
