Blank-fire firearms licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to possess and use blank-fire firearms for theatrical productions or to start sporting events.

A blank-fire firearms licence can be issued to an individual, a theatrical organisation, or an athletic or other sporting organisation.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • reside only in Queensland
  • be a fit and proper person with specific reference to mental state, misuse of drugs and / or firearms and offences involving violence or threatened violence
  • have access to safe and secure weapon storage
  • provide a copy of a Statement of Attainment certifying completion of the approved safety course for the categories of weapons applied for
  • provide a supporting letter verifying your authority to act as the licence representative, describing the nature of your duties in your occupation and explaining why firearms are necessary in your work.
