Bookmaker's licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence to undertake bookmaking activities such as receiving, negotiating or settling bets for thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for a racing bookmaker's licence, you must:

be a corporation or an individual over 18 years old
be a fit and proper person
comply with any requirements, conditions and rules required by the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission
have adequate financial resources to operate the bookmaking business.

If you intend to be assisted by a bookmaker's clerk, the clerk must:

complete the relevant licence application form
be at least 18 years old.

You must apply for an offcourse approval if you wish to carry on bookmaking at a place other than a licensed venue, using an approved telecommunications system for bookmaking.
