When you need a permit

If you want to perform in the Queen Street Mall, Reddacliff Place or the Valley Malls, you will need a busking licence. Licences are issued after a successful audition.

Application process

Prospective buskers should contact the relevant agency for the precinct they wish to busk in:

  • Brunswick and Chinatown Mall - City Malls Management
  • Queen Street Mall - City Malls Management
  • Southbank Parklands - contact the Southbank Busking Coordinator.

Auditions will be held and an application completed at that time if the prospective busker is successful.

Transfer process

You cannot transfer this licence.

Auditions

New applicants must complete an audition of up to five minutes duration. Auditions are judged by representatives from Brisbane City Council and Brisbane Marketing.
