Buskers under the age of 16 require signed parental or guardian consent and must be supervised by the parent or guardian at all times.
Category B - busking performers (those involving dangerous materials or instruments such as balance, juggling or circle acts, pavement art performances, and those using percussion or noisy instruments) must obtain their own public liability insurance of $20 million noting your local council as an interested party. If you intend to apply as a category B busking performer, you will need to provide a copy of your public liability insurance certificate with your application.
To carry out busking activities, you must ensure that you do not:
- cause damage to any council property
- unreasonably interfere with residential amenity
- unreasonably interfere with the interests of commercial operators in the vicinity of the busking activity.
