You will need this permit to busk or provide entertainment in a public place for money or other type of reward. Busking is regulated to ensure it does not unreasonably impact upon residents and businesses.
Examples of activities which commonly require this permit include:
- singing or playing a musical instrument
- juggling
- dancing
- magic
- puppetry
- miming
- living statue acts.
Busking within the council area does not require a permit unless the activity is outside the minimum standards outlined in the authorising subordinate local law. The busking activity must be kept to council footpaths at all times unless approval is obtained from private property owners.
