Casino employee licence - Queensland

Description

You need this licence to work in a Queensland casino as a:

  • games dealer
  • cashier
  • games and machine operator
  • security or surveillance operator
  • gaming equipment maintenance and repair worker
  • administration officer.

Note: If you are being employed in a management role in a Queensland casino, you will require a casino key employee licence.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

You must be 18 years or older and have a letter from the casino operator confirming your employment.

Duration

This licence remains in effect until cancelled, surrendered, expired (if not used for 12 months) or death.

Application process

There are 2 ways to apply for a casino employee licence:

  1. complete the online form
  2. complete form 9 - this form will be provided by your employer as part of your application package.

Note: This application can only be lodged at the direction of the casino operator.

Your employer will also submit the following documents to OLGR with your application:

  • identification documents
  • certificate of training experience
  • other documents as requested.

Transfer

This licence cannot be transferred.
