Certificate of Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland - Queensland


You need this registration if you are planning to carry out professional engineering services in Queensland.

You do not require this licence if you intend to work under the supervision of a registered professional engineer of Queensland.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

Assessment entities were appointed to assess the qualifications and competencies of engineers applying for registration. You can obtain full details from the Board's website.


This registration will remain in effect until the last day of the financial year in which registration was granted.

Application process

To obtain this registration you must submit a completed 'Application for Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland' to the Board's head office.

You must submit the following documents with the application:

  • a letter from an approved assessment entity stating your area of engineering;
  • a passport photo of yourself bearing your signature on the reverse side.

Transfer process

This registration cannot be transferred.
