You will need to comply with this code if you intend to own a dog that is pregnant or gives birth to a litter.

The standards and guidelines apply to all dog breeders, including those who are exempt from registration and those who own a pet that has an unplanned litter.

The code describes the appropriate care, management, socialisation and sheltering of breeding dogs.
