Collection authority - Queensland

Description

You need this licence if you intend to keep a collection of dead animals. There are two categories of licence:

  • Dead least concern animal collection authority - allows for the animal to be used and sold where it is incorporated into a work of art (taxidermy) but not for any other commercial purpose.
  • Dead protected animal authority - does not allow the animal to be used for any commercial purpose and is generally issued for reference purposes in cases where the educational purposes permit is not appropriate.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence you must not have a criminal conviction that relates to animal welfare issues or related conservation matters within the past three years.
