Commercial parking permit - Cairns Regional Council - Queensland

Description

There are 2 different parking permits for business use - business parking permit and commercial vehicle parking permit.

A business parking permit is available for businesses or employee's of a business who frequent the city multiple times during the day on a daily basis undertaking business activity at multiple venues.

They are not available for day-to-day employees commuting or for business use where a vehicle is parked on the street all day.

A business parking permit allows the permit holder to park on-street at no cost, but you must adhere to parking time limits and other parking restrictions, such as not parking in disability bays, taxi, bus and commercial loading zones.

You will need a commercial vehicle parking permit if you intend to park your sedan, station wagon or motorcycle (which is used for business purposes) to park in a designated zone signed "Loading Zone Commercial Vehicles". Utilities (including dual cabs), panel vans and vans without rear passenger seats and / or seat belts do not need a commercial vehicle parking permit.

A vehicle registered with the state government transport agency as purpose of use commercial requires a commercial vehicle parking permit.
