Concealable firearm licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to possess and use air pistols, centre-fire pistols, black powder or rim-fire pistols (category H) that are under 75cm in length, except powerheads.

Concealable firearms are most commonly used for:

  • sport target shooting
  • primary production
  • commercial animal control
  • rural purposes.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • reside only in Queensland
  • have a genuine reason for needing a weapons licence
  • be a fit and proper person
  • have completed an approved safety course in weapons safety
  • have a safe and secure place to store the weapon.

You will need to maintain a genuine reason and participation in the required participation shoots (if issued for target shooting).
