Consignment Authorisation for movement of controlled waste between States and Territories - Queensland


For those wishing to transport wastes into or out of Queensland, information is provided regarding the requirements of the National Environmental Protection (Movement of Controlled Waste between States and Territories) Measure 1998.

Information is provided on the requirements to obtain consignment authorisation, record information about the movement of controlled waste and the provision of the information to relevant State and Territory licensing agencies.

Under the National Environmental Protection Measure, for the purpose of moving trackable waste between state and territories, waste transporters are recognised who hold a valid waste transportation authorisation issued by another Australian jurisdiction.

Eligibility requirements

No eligibility criteria to apply however a waste transporter and a waste receiver are required to be licensed to transport or receive regulated waste.  Licensing in the relevant State the waste handler operates out of will apply. For more information contact the State environment authority.
