Container approval - Queensland

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to manufacture containers that are suitable to be used in the Containers for Change scheme. The containers for change scheme gives people an incentive to collect and return containers for recycling in exchange for a 10 cent refund payment.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible you must:

  • have a container recovery agreement between the Organisation and a manufacturer of the beverage product for the container type used in the product that is either in force or has been agreed in principle by the Organisation pending the approval being granted container
  • ensure the container is suitable to be recycled and the way the marking is proposed to be displayed on the container is not likely to affect whether the container is suitable to be recycled
  • not have an in force approval for the beverage under a corresponding law for a corresponding scheme
  • not have had approval refused or cancelled for the beverage product under a corresponding law for a corresponding scheme.
