Electrical contractor licence - QLD - Australian Business Licence and Information Service

Description

You will need this licence to undertake electrical work or operate a business which undertakes electrical work.

This licence is required whether you are operating alone or with others, and if the electrical work is being undertaken for profit or gain.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

have at least 1 qualified technical person and at least 1 qualified business person (the technical / business person can be the same person)
satisfy the financial and insurance requirements
ensure that the electrical work will be performed or supervised by a qualified technical person under the person's electrical work licence.

You must also have public liability insurance of at least $5 million and consumer protection insurance of at least $50,000.
