Extended trading hours approval - Queensland


You will require this approval if you intend to permanently extend the trading hours of your licensed premises.

The type of licence you hold may impact the allowed extended trading hours (i.e. time of day on weekdays or weekends).

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.


Once endorsed on the licence, the new trading hours continue until amended except for liquor licensees where the trading hours will be reduced if the applicable annual fees are not paid.

Application process


Your liquor licence application should include:

If you are licensee operating in the Brisbane City Council area you will also need to provide a Form 45: Certification of compliance.

Your wine licence application should include:

  • Form 6: Application for extended hours permit - on a regular or permanent basis (wine licence)
  • the prescribed application fee.

Your gaming licence application should include:

  • Form 70: Application for an increase in approved hours of gaming
  • the prescribed application fee.


This licence cannot be transferred.
