Fireworks operator licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence to undertake any of the following activities:

  • use fireworks for a fireworks display organised by a fireworks contractor
  • possess fireworks to use them in a fireworks display organised by a fireworks contractor
  • store and transport limited quantities of fireworks (to use them in a fireworks display organised by a fireworks contractor).

A fireworks operator licence does not allow the licence holder to purchase fireworks. A fireworks operator may only conduct displays that are organised by fireworks contractor.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be over 18 years of age
  • be physically able to conduct the nominated explosives activities
  • have the knowledge and training to do the work competently
  • have a certified copy of a F3712 – Medical certificate for motor vehicle driver or an acceptable equivalent issued within the past 3 years and completed to commercial standards
  • have a certified copy of a statement of attainment from a registered training organisation that includes the unit of competency HLTAID011 – Provide first aid (or equivalent) dated within the past 3 years
  • meet the competency requirements.
