You will need this registration if you intend to participate in the gas retail markets in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria or Western Australia.
While formal roles and registerable capacities vary from state to state, anyone that functions as distributor, retailer and self-contracting user must register. Other specified roles such as transmission service provider, may also need to register in some states.
Depending on their role and location, gas retail market participants may also have to register in other markets, including the declared wholesale gas market (DWGM) and short term trading market (STTM).
