Applicants for a GHG permit or a GHG lease must take groundwater issues into account. Applicants must include a plan for the treatment and disposal of water used while carrying out authorised activities. For a GHG permit or a GHG lease, an environmental authority must be issued from the Department of Environment and Science before the permit or lease is granted.
