If you are operating in more than one location within one council area, you only require one licence as long as all locations are on your licence.
If you have a mobile business, you only need a licence from the council where you store your vehicle. You can use your licence all over Queensland, as long as you notify the council at least seven days before you intend to operate in their area. It may be less than seven days if the council agrees to the lesser period.
Businesses may have in place a COVID Safe Framework. This refers to:
- where there is an approved plan for the business, activity or undertaking
- where there is no approved plan and a COVID Safe Checklist is in place
- where the business elects not to operate under an approved plan and instead elects to use a COVID Safe Checklist.
As of 20 October 2020, if your business is following an industry COVID Safe Plan, you will be able to offer services to the maximum number of people you can fit on your premises. You must comply with the rule of having one person per four square metres for indoor spaces greater than 200 metres. Smaller indoor spaces less than 200 square metres can have one person per two square metres, up to a maximum of 50 people at a time. Businesses must ensure everyone is kept 1.5 metres from others (outside their family or group) where possible. This is to be maintained by all workers and visitors.
Businesses which elect to not have in place a COVID Safe Framework may only operate the business for a maximum of 50 people, with no more than one person per four square metres and physical distancing observed.
Personal appearance businesses must collect contact information from patrons, contractors, and staff. This is for contact tracing purposes and the information must be destroyed after 56 days.
Offences exist in relation to higher risk personal appearance services. Legislative requirements must be complied with to ensure you are not in contravention of any legislative provisions.
