Introduction agents licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to provide introductory services to people who are interested in:

  • having personal relationships
  • attending a social gathering.

You must be licensed if you offer services to clients in Queensland even if you are based interstate, overseas or solely online.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Exemptions

You will not need this licence if you:

  • are a community and non-for profit organisation or if you organise other public events such as dances
  • are a prostitution provider
  • supply a published list of people looking for a relationship if you charge less than $100 and your clients do not contact you directly to access the list or you do not require your clients to use your service again.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be 18 years or older
  • not be insolvent or under administration.

You must undergo a criminal history check to confirm their suitability. The criminal history check applies to each person for whom a date and place of birth are requested on the application form.
