Labelling of workplace hazardous chemicals code of practice 2021 - Queensland

Description

You will need to comply with this code of practice if you use, manufacture or are exposed to hazardous chemicals. A hazardous chemical is any substance, mixture or article that satisfies the criteria for a hazard class in the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).

This code of practice provides practical guidance on how to comply with your work health and safety duties, including effective ways to identify and manage risks. While this code of practice does not apply to chemicals not classified as hazardous, it is recommended that every chemical with potential adverse health, safety or environmental effects be similarly labelled.

You will either need to comply with this code of practice or an alternative method that sets an equivalent or higher standard of work health and safety.
