You will need to create movement records when moving livestock between properties in Queensland. Livestock include cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, bison, buffalo, deer, alpacas, camelids, equines, bees and designated birds (for example, birds kept for meat or egg production or other purposes, e.g. racing pigeons).
A movement record can be in any format (electronic or hardcopy) and can include:
- diary or logbook entries
- notepads or exercise books
- emails
- text messages
- excel spreadsheets
- movement record templates (can be used for all animals)
- horse health declarations
- National Vendor Declarations (preferred for selling or moving cattle, sheep and goats)
- PigPass (preferred for moving pigs).
You will need to keep the records for a set period of time - see the supporting information for more details.
