Managing risks of hazardous chemicals in the workplace code of practice 2021 - Queensland


This code of practice applies to your business if hazardous chemicals are handled in the workplace, which may include manufacturing, importing or supplying of hazardous chemicals, or a business that uses, handles, generates or stores hazardous chemicals. This code applies to substances, mixtures and articles used, handled, generated or stored at the workplace which are defined as hazardous chemicals in legislation and the generation of hazardous chemicals from work processes (e.g. toxic fumes released during welding).

This code of practice provides practical guidance on how to comply with your work health and safety duties, including effective ways to identify and manage risks.

You will either need to comply with this code of practice or an alternative method that sets an equivalent or higher standard of work health and safety.
