Miscellaneous weapons licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence if you have a genuine reason to possess and use weapons such as crossbows, some knives and martial arts weapons, and body armour (categories E and M).

Genuine reasons for holding a miscellaneous weapons licence include the use of a crossbow for sport, target or recreational shooting, as well as participation in historical or military re-enactments and martial arts.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:  

  • be at least 18 years old  
  • reside only in Queensland 
  • be a fit and proper person with specific reference to mental state, misuse of drugs and / or firearms and offences involving violence or threatened violence 
  • have access to safe and secure weapon storage 
  • provide the appropriate supporting documents, which will vary based on your genuine reason.
