National police certificate - Queensland

Description

You may need a national police certificate as part of the application process for a licence, registration or other approval. Some employers or volunteer organisations may also require you to provide a national police certificate prior to commencing employment or volunteer work.

A National Police Certificate (NPC) conducted by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) is based on a search of the person's name against the criminal history records held by police services Australia-wide. This document is most commonly used for employment, study or overseas travel (check with your employer or licensing body to ensure a NPC is appropriate). In some cases, you may also be required to undergo a fingerprint search or an ASIO security assessment relating to politically motivated violence.
