If a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) at a workplace determines that work at the workplace is lead risk work, the person must notify the regulator within 7 days. A notice must state the kind of lead process being carried out that includes the lead risk work.
Lead risk work means work carried out in a lead process that is likely to cause the blood lead level of a worker carrying out the work to be more than:
- 5 microgram/dL (0.24 micromole/L) for a female of reproductive capacity
- 20 microgram/dL (0.97 micromole/L) in any other case.
