Occupational diving work code of practice 2005 - Queensland

Description

You will need to comply with this code if you undertake underwater diving work. All diving workers must have a current certificate of medical fitness.

If the diving work is of a higher risk profile, a dive medical practitioner may recommend higher levels of screening. Examples of diving work with a higher risk profile can involve:

  • decompression stop diving
  • multiple ascents
  • dives below 30 metres
  • decompression using gases other than air.

This code provides practical guidance on how to comply with your work health and safety duties, including effective ways to identify and manage risks.

You will either need to comply with this code or an alternative method that sets an equivalent or higher standard of work health and safety.
