You will need this licence to operate a personal watercraft (PWC) on Queensland waters. A PWC is a powered ship with a fully enclosed hull that does not take on water if capsized and is designed to be operated by a person standing, crouching or kneeling on it or sitting astride it. Examples of PWCs include jet-skis and wave-runners.
All licence holders have an obligation to ensure their PWC is in good condition, used safely and has the correct safety equipment.
