Plumbing and drainage notifiable work registration - Queensland

Description

You will need this registration to undertake plumbing and drainage work which can be performed without a permit or inspections. Work that is classified as notifiable work includes:

  • extending, altering, replacing or removing supply pipes
  • fire services
  • existing sanitary plumbing
  • existing sanitary drainage
  • temperature control devices
  • water heaters
  • backflow prevention devices
  • greywater treatment plants
  • fixtures for class 1 or 10 buildings
  • fixtures for class 2 to 9 building of 1 or 2 storeys
  • sanitary drains
  • sealing supply pipes.

This work can be undertaken in existing homes and limited work on commercial buildings.

Lodgement process

You must submit a form within 10 business days of when the work is finished and when an invoice is issued.

You must also provide a copy of the form to the occupier of the premises or any other person who asked the relevant person to carry out the work within 20 business days after the notifiable work is complete.
