Pool safety inspector licence - Queensland

Description

You will need this licence to perform pool safety inspection functions for regulated pools. A pool safety inspector can:

  • inspect a pool and issue a pool safety certificate?or non-conformity notice
  • do minor repairs,?e.g.?adjusting or replacing a latch or hinges and removing climbable objects 
  • erect, repair, replace or adjust a maximum of five metres and no more than six posts of a pool safety barrier. 

All licensed pool safety inspectors will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for swimming pool safety instructors.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • hold a statement of attainment in Swimming Pool Safety inspections issued by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)
  • pass the pool safety inspector test
  • hold professional indemnity insurance.

Ongoing eligibility requirements

You must accrue six continuing professional development points (CDP) each year.
