You will need this licence to operate a private health facility. Private health facilities include private hospitals and day procedure centres.

Private health facilities are places where patients are provided with:

  • medical, surgical or other prescribed treatment and then discharged
  • prescribed services or treatments.

To be eligible for this licence, you must:

  • be a suitable person
  • ensure the private health facility and the health services provided at the facility, comply with the relevant standards.
