Q-Ride registered service provider registration - Queensland

Description

You need to be registered as a Q-Ride registered service provider if you intend to offer the Q-Ride training curriculum to learner motorcycle riders. Q-Ride's focus is to improve the quality of motorcycle learner rider training, boost education and awareness and enhance road safety.

If you are not an accredited rider trainer, you must employ an accredited rider trainer to deliver the Q-Ride curriculum.

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • hold public liability insurance of at least $10 million
  • have a suitable road training area that you have landowner permission to use
  • be a suitable person
  • hold rider trainer accreditation or employ someone who does.

You can obtain this registration by following the steps below:

  1. Review the 'Business Rules for providing Q-Ride Training'.
  2. Prepare your application for lodgement together with all supporting documents - evidence of identity, copy of public liability insurances, details of suitable training area and landowner authority, evidence that you are or you employ an accredited rider trainer and a senior trainer.
  3. Lodge your application by email or post to the agency.
  4. The agency will conduct a suitable person assessment (criminal history check) and assess the supporting documents to determine your ability to comply with the scheme.
  5. The agency will consider your application within 28 days and advise of their decision within a further 14 days.
  6. The agency will conduct an initial audit to ensure you are complying with the business rules.

Transfer

The registration of a Q-Ride registered service provider is not able to be assigned to or transferred.

Additional information

 You will be subject to annual audits and will be responsible for the associated costs.
