Requirement for ID scanning system and equipment - Queensland


You are required to have an approved ID scanning system in place if you sell or supply liquor within a safe night precinct after midnight. ID scanning systems and equipment must be obtained from an approved operator.

You must scan IDs from 10pm on the following days:

  • Friday
  • Saturday
  • Sunday
  • the day before a public holiday.

Generally, the person operating the ID scanning equipment must be a licensed crowd controller.
