Requirement for ID scanning system and equipment - Queensland

Description

If you sell or supply liquor within a safe night precinct, and are approved on a permanent basis to trade after midnight, you must have an approved ID scanning system and scan patron IDs on entry to your premises.

IDs must be scanned after 10pm on the following days:

  • Friday
  • Saturday
  • Sunday
  • the day before a public holiday.

You must also scan IDs from 10pm on Monday to Thursday nights if you continue to serve alcohol after 1am.

ID scanning equipment must be obtained from an approved operator and it must be linked to an approved ID scanning system.

Generally, the person operating the ID scanning equipment must be a licensed crowd controller.
