Riverine protection permit - Queensland

Description

You will need this permit before you excavate, place fill, or destroy vegetation in any watercourse, lake or spring.

A development permit and other approvals may also be required for clearing native vegetation which will need to be obtained separately. You will need a separate authorisation to remove any quarry material (such as stone, gravel, sand, rock, clay, earth and soil) from the watercourse.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this permit, you must:

  • obtain written consent from the landholder/s or adjoining landholders (if you are not the registered owner of the whole length of the watercourse where the activity is to take place)
  • provide details of the proposed activity and the purpose of the activity.

You may also be asked to provide additional information or verification such as a statement of environmental effects or a statutory declaration.

Duration

This permit remains in effect for the period specified, unless cancelled before the expiry.
